welcome to my horror

so first thing this morning i get my hand smashed into a door by a metal cart. i thought it was just bruised, but quite to my horror my nail was hanging off but still connected by a small piece (you can see it on the right if you're brave enough to look at the picture again). this is the last thing i expected to happen this morning. thank the lord i'm done teaching for a while. i think this would traumatize some little children.

let me tell you a little bit about my day

every once in a while a day is just so good that you have to write about it. today is one of those days. and by good, i mean good to write about, but not necessarily good in content.

it all began at 6am when i woke up to go to the gym. i got up this early because i had a busy day ahead of me and wanted to fit everything in. so i ride my bike to the gym and realize...summer hours...gym opens at 8am. i do the math in my head knowing that i can't wait until then because i'm going to brunch with some friends. i decide to scrap the gym. ride home fast to make up some of the workout time lost, take a nice long shower, and go lay back in bed with my dog. 9am wake up to my neighbor's music as happens about 2-3 times a month on a saturday. get a text from friend that he and said girlfriend are running about a half hour late. not a good sign considering last time we had brunch plans they were "running late" and i didn't even get to go because i had to work. a couple minutes later i get the text that they won't be going because they got in a fight. yeah, what else is new with my friends.

so fuck it. i make my own brekky. scrambled eggs with fresh tomato and garlic cheese spread, veggie bacon AND sausage, toast, and a glass of pineapple orange juice. you know, the kind of breakfast where the butter goes to the very edge of the toast? mmmm....i ate the shit out of that while sitting on the fancy bar table my new roommate brought here. did i mention i was also reading the wired i finally got in the mail. i love techy product reviews. i am, in fact, a nerd.

i finish my delicious breakfast and sit down with my coffee and magazine. time check? 11am. nice.

and now i'm typing this with one hand on my macbook because wyatt wants to lay on my legs. and who am i to deny this dog.

so what's on the agenda for the rest of the day you ask?

going for a walk/talk with jon (we broke up in march in case anyone didn't know)
working at 4pm
hot date

i promised my sister i would put up a picture of my new glasses (i'm actually on the phone with her in the picture! cosmic!). they're sweet. same frames, but pearly grey on the outside and lime green on the inside. word.

wyatt decided to DESTROY my glasses yesterday. oh...and i just missed the warranty (the one where i would have paid $50 to replace them rather than $250...yeah...that one).
